Capture the unusual
in the every day on the streets of Santa Fe. Over-familiarity
with our environment can make us blind to what is really going
on in the world around us. in this informal four-hour workshop,
you'll do more than stop and shoot the roses, you'll learn to
express your view of the world--whether your interest is in documenting
life as you see it, capturing an artful interpretation of a scene
or taking pictures purely for the pleasure of it. Street photography
often concentrates on a single human moment, the 'decisive moment'
-- a stolen kiss, a man jumping a puddle, a woman lost in her
thoughts in a diner, or a row of bicycles glowing in the sunlight.
In myriad settings in and around the heart of town, we will explore
these bread-and-butter moments of street photography. Techniques
on invisibility, overcoming shyness to ask permission as well
as getting releases for your photograph will also be covered.
Knowledge of your camera -- whether it's a manual or point and
shoot, film or digital--is essential.
